In 2023, the central government will allocate RMB25.7bn for water pollution prevention and control, an increase of RMB2bn, mainly to support the implementation of the Yangtze River protection and restoration, the Yellow River ecological protection and management, the comprehensive management of key sea areas, and the pilot work of treating black and odorous water bodies in rural areas.
