Water Transfer Prices Set For Jiangsu & Shandong

7 January 2014, The Ministry of Finance and Commerce, the Ministry of Water Resources and the South to North Water Transfer Corporation have set water transfer prices for Jiangsu and Shandong provinces.
The water transfer prices paid to the South to North Water Transfer Corporation should cover all project costs as well as water management costs, which should ensure a clean and sustainable water supply. The prices comprise of two parts: one, which is the basic component that will be funded by the respective provincial governments and two, the metered price that will be paid by the public. However, a portion of the government component will likely receive funding from the public through taxes or other means.
The prices differ from region to region, with a total of seven regions spread between the two respective provinces. The price per cubic meter ranges from RMB 0.36 – 2.24. For list of prices see here.
