May 14- China announced an updated drinking water standard to be applied throughout the country in July 1st with a total of 21 toxicological indicators.  The last version was instituted in 1985 with only 10. Furthermore, 106 new water quality indicators will be applied, a huge increase from the previous 35.The new standard also implies stricter requirements on indicators such as lead.
