World Water Week 2016
28 August, 2016 - 2 September, 2016
World Water Week in Stockholm is the annual focal point for the globe’s water issues. In 2015, over 3,300 individuals (experts, practitioners, decision-makers & business innovators from various sectors) and close to 300 convening organizations from 130 countries participated in the Week. Participants come to Stockholm to exchange ideas, foster new thinking and develop solutions to the most pressing water-related challenges of today.
This year, China Water Risk is co-convening a seminar with Global Water Partnership (GWP) and Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS). In light of the theme Water for Sustainable Growth, the seminar will focus on the demand for energy, a precondition for economic growth and social development in most developing and emerging markets. The seminar will show how in many parts of the world, energy expansion occurs at the expense of water security, undermining sustainable and inclusive growth. But there are solutions, which will also be discussed.
