HKIP Climate Change & Sustainability Sharing Series #3
March 28 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Dr. CT Low will be speaking at the Climate Change & Sustainability Sharing Series #3 “Coping with Urban Risks: Observations and Experiences from NGOs – Hong Kong Red Cross and China Water Risk”
Guest Speakers:
Dr. CT Low heads CWR’s geospatial analysis work, which is being used to identify risk hotspots to plan better resilience. His 3D flood maps have triggered many corporates and banks to start assessing their coastal threats and his models have been included in the annual reports of a number of publicly listed firms. His work has also been cited by mainstream media outlets such as Bloomberg TV and SCMP. Low’s geospatial models were a key input for the ground-breaking CWR APAC Coastal Threat Index for 20 cities that benchmarks coastal threats across 20 cities in APAC. Currently, he is leading CWR’s Re-IMAGINE HK initiative and sits on HKUST’s Shaping a Sustainable Northern Metropolis steering group to drive “low-regret adaptation” in HK against coastal threats.
Ms. Eva Yeung is the Senior Manager of Community Resilience Service from Hong Kong Red Cross. She is enthusiastic in enhancing participatory approaches in community resilience programmes and engaged in humanitarian and development field with International Nongovernmental Organisations for years. She is a member of the working group of International Red Cross Movement in Disaster Risk Reduction and Urban Hub Core Group.
