ISO14040:2006 Life Cycle Assessment Environmental management, Principals and Framework

A Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is the assessment of the environmental impact of a given product throughout its lifespan. The ISO14040: 2006 LCA aims to provide a clear overview of the LCA and its applications and limitations to a broad range of users and stakeholders. It describes the principles and framework of the LCA including: definition of the goal, life cycle inventory analysis, reporting and critical review of the LCA, limitations of the LCA and the conditions for use of value choices and optional elements.
