ASEAN-China Regional Cooperation Conference On Energy Transition And Climate-Resilience Development

CWR PRESENTS ON WATER & CLIMATE RISKS AT MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE
In the light of the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2019, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand, in collaboration with the ASEAN-China Centre and the Global Climate Action Initiative, is convening the ASEAN-China regional cooperation conference on Energy Transition and Climate-resilience Development on 28th and 29th August 2019 at the Peninsula Hotel, Bangkok. The conference will provide a crucial opportunity for stakeholders from ASEAN, China and other countries to discuss among those significant areas related to renewable energy and climate-resilient development in the ASEAN region.
The objectives of the Conference are:
- Bring officials from ASEAN and international expertise together to discuss opportunities and challenges to achieving Paris Agreement NDCs through energy transition;
- Share practices and experience with policy instruments, technical methodologies and financing options in China and other countries that can assist ASEAN to achieve energy transition and implement NDCs;
- Establish a public-private partnership platform and explore potential future collaborative opportunities in ASEAN countries on energy transition, renewable energy development, and green finance related capacity building and pilot project implementation.
Participants will include officials from NDC implementing ministries and energy ministries in ASEAN countries, technical and policy experts from government designated research institutions in respective countries, financial institutions and impact investors, as well as leading philanthropists. Speakers include ministers from ASEAN and China, Chair and Co-chair of GCAI, Chairman of the China Green Finance Committee, and many more.
