2019 Sustainable & Impact Finance Symposium in China
January 8 - January 9
Location: Peking University HSBC Business School, Shenzhen, China
Organisers: Sustainable Finance Institute (SFI), Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS)
China has become a world leader in Green Finance, and the rest of Asia is expected to rapidly expand in this regard. Europe is moving from deep integration of sustainability considerations to establishing standards and requirements on sustainable finance, and the US is also seeing record levels of interest in sustainable finance, moving rapidly beyond green bonds into other asset classes, from public and private equity to venture, infrastructure and beyond.
What is sustainable investing in the Chinese context, and how can both companies and investors benefit, is the specific focus of this event in January 2019. These events on Sustainable Finance in Asia are important gatherings, bringing together corporations, investors, academics and policymakers interested in benefiting from this accelerating global trend, learning from best practices, and building a global community of practice and education.
Leading speakers and panelists will focus on among other topics:
- Sustainable Investing Practices Around the World
- The Financial Performance Connection to Sustainable Investing
- Greening the Belt and Road Initiative
- China and the Value Driver Model
- Understanding and Maximizing Intangible Value
- Trends in Sustainable Private Equity and Venture Capital
- Cities as Ecosystems of Sustainable Finance
This event builds from two successful, sold-out symposiums at Yale. The first during September 2017 featured a conversation moving beyond outcomes to specific strategies for investment success and which was followed by Yale’s first event on Impact Investing in April, 2018, which had 350 attendees.
CWR will be presenting at this event on sustainable finance opportunities in China on 9th January at 3pm.
